# Atmosphere

> The sky behind the glass — a themed ground with slow-drifting light.

- **Level**: organism · **Status**: stable · **Role**: surface
- **Import**: `import { Atmosphere } from "@rrios-forge/ui/organisms/atmosphere";`
- **Source**: `packages/ui/src/organisms/atmosphere`

The optional DEFAULT atmosphere of the design system: a themed sky (high-key day in light, night in dark) with two brand lights drifting on minute-long, transform-only loops. It is the ONE sanctioned continuous animation in Poesía — weather, not component state — governed by the ADR-023 grammar: `energy` is the community's resting tempo (calm | lively), `signal` is the ONE stateful channel (none | raised | urgent — opacity-only breathing, ≥6 s cycles, tempo = urgency and nothing else), and skins recolour the lights via --poesia-atmosphere-light-primary/-secondary. It freezes under prefers-reduced-motion or motion="still" (the WCAG 2.2.2 pause lever — apps owe their users a persistent setting wired to it), with signal changes landing as a slow opacity crossfade. The day sky carries a sharp dot lattice and the night sky its point highlights: crisp structure whose visible melting is what makes the vibrant material read as glass.

## Use it for

- Ground behind glass → `Atmosphere`

## Axes

| Axis | Part | Values | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| `motion` | — | `drift` `still` | `drift` | Ambient motion of the atmosphere (ADR-023). |
| `energy` | — | `calm` `lively` | `calm` | Resting tempo of the atmosphere (ADR-023). |
| `signal` | — | `none` `raised` `urgent` | `none` | Ambient escalation (ADR-023). |

## Decisions that name it

- ADR-022 — The material family: `solid` and `vibrant`
- ADR-023 — Atmosphere grammar: colour, motion, and meaning
- ADR-027 — Vibrant is the system's material, not one of its members

## Always

- Tokens only (R04); variants are semantic axes, never appearance (R02).
- Typography and actions are Poesía atoms, never raw HTML with utilities.
- Vibrant panes need a ground and never nest (ADR-027).
